Lesson 119

Lesson 119
(107) Truth will correct all errors in my mind.
I am mistaken when I think I can be hurt in any
way. I am God’s Son, whose Self rests safely in
the Mind of God.

(108) To give and to receive are one in truth.
I will forgive all things today, that I may learn how
to accept the truth in me, and come to recognize my
sinlessness.

On the hour:
Truth will correct all errors in my mind.

On the half hour:
To give and to receive are one in truth.

Journal

I have thought that I am in danger nearly all the time. Every time I get in a car, I could be in a wreck. I could have a sudden heart attack or maybe that mole on my back is cancer. But I am mistaken that I could be hurt because the only thing that can be hurt is this body and I am not that. I think my feelings can be hurt or that my heart could be broken, but I am mistaken about that as well since this kind of suffering can occur only to what can be separated and I am not that either even if I pretend I am. My safety and my happiness are dependent on the truth and truth will correct these ideas in my mind as I am ready for it to be done. Without the false beliefs in my mind, I will no longer dream of danger.

Today, I will forgive all things. I will forgive the ideas in my mind and forgive their manifestations in the world, and do so as quickly as they come to my attention. In so doing, I will make room for the truth that sets me free. I will remember that I am sinless because I will no longer be dreaming of sin. I will remember that I am in God because I will no longer believe in the idea there is anywhere else to be. As I give up the ideas of separation and bodies and a world that exists outside of God, I will remember that I am His Son.

Every time I do a root cause inquiry it takes me to one of two places. Either I believe that I am unworthy and therefore unlovable, or I believe that I am not safe. Both of these false thoughts are the effect of believing in separation. I forgive the idea of separation, the idea that I still want that experience, and I forgive the idea of something less than perfect safety and the idea of unworthiness and a state in which love is unavailable. They are all mad ideas that lead only to suffering.

Regina’s Tips

The words are no more than signposts. That to which they point is not to be found within the realm of thought, but a dimension within yourself that is deeper and infinitely vaster than thought. A vibrantly alive peace is one of the characteristics of that dimension, so whenever you feel inner peace arising as you read, the [written word] is doing its work fulfilling its function as your teacher; it is reminding you of who you are and pointing the way back home. … Allow [it] to do its work, to awaken you from the old grooves of your repetitive and conditioned thinking. ~ Eckhart Tolle

My thoughts

Even though words are necessary in the dream, and even though I use a lot of words, I am so tired of them. They never paint the picture I have in my mind. They never really express the idea I want to impart. This is why I have to be quiet sometimes and let the Holy Spirit do its wordless work on me. The ego resists this so strenuously that I have to take this healing in small bits. The ego loves words and hates silence because there are no words. I have for a long time now realized that the words are hardly important at all and that the real healing takes place within me without my help or my wordy clarifications. My only part it seems is to want the healing.

Past Entry

I rest safely in God, right now. Not later, not when I wake up, not when I die, but right now. As I begin to accept the metaphysics of the Course, that is as I begin to accept that I am not this body I seem to be walking around in, I am relieved of the fear of being vulnerable and weak. I am relieved of the fear of suffering and death.

In my mind, I imagine myself as if I was living the movie, Inception. I am in a dream within a dream, and I am waiting for the “bump” that is going to wake me up. I keep following the clues that lead me through my purpose in being here and that will then bring me to that awakening, listening to the Voice that is leading me out of the dream.

Sometimes I imagine myself living the Matrix, slowly realizing that the world is a construct and it is my job to save it by waking everyone up to the truth. But of course, first I have to wake up to reality myself to be of any help to anyone else. I think these stories came through to help us begin to imagine that things could be different. Maybe that is why I am so attracted to them and why I watch them over and over.

I am safe in God right now, and as I adjust to the truth that I am not Myron in this body, but that I am my Self dreaming of this body, I am happier. I have begun to watch the story of Myron and the stories of everyone else and to know that I am unaffected by them. I am not consistent in this yet but if I can tell that if knew without a doubt that I am unaffected by anything happening in this “life” I would even enjoy it and I would be in perfect peace all the time.

With the certainty that I am not actually living this, but only observing it in the most realistic manner imaginable, I could at any time, stop participating in this bizarre little experiment, this tiny mad idea, and return my awareness to God and my place in God. I would do this because I would then have no fear of God, and no hesitation to return. I know it can happen because I know people who have done so and therefore, so can I.

As I more and more accept that none of this is real, forgiveness is becoming a cinch as I realize that there is nothing to forgive. As I accept that giving and receiving is the same, I have little desire to take. I want nothing more than to give and give and give. What I give to any, I give to all, including myself. I see that the giving and receiving are never separate but occur simultaneously. May I always give only what I truly want to receive.

All of this is true for me except when it is not. I do these lessons, and I watch my mind, and I invite healing because I have peeked under the veil just enough to know I want what is there.

  1. Thank you Myron. Yes, we are walking around in this dream about a dream ay? I love that analogy as it goes along with what you said yesterday. To paraphrase you said, we are like amnesiacs who are injured. That is so true. But some of us are recovering our memory of LOVE. The dream is becoming a dream of awakening. Through forgiveness we can awaken. I had a conversation with a friend yesterday about forgiveness and something popped out of my mouth. She is not a course student and I was explaining forgiveness. I said that when we have forgiven “someone” we are “unhooked” from them. In our heart we no longer worry, rage or fear about that issue. THEN we have forgiven. She was blown away by that because of a long standing situation in her life. Later I thought about this for myself and knew that as long as we are “hooked” by” them” or their behavior we have not forgiven. I used to say well I HAVE forgiven my mother but why does she still bug me. HA! I was still so hooked I was like a fish on a fish hook being reeled in. Examples of an old boyfriend who caused us grief, the kid who teased us in school about being fat or skinny or tall or redhead etc…if there is still a “hook” of anger/fear/grief when we recall that…the only solution is forgiveness. Whatever it takes to “unhook” is forgiveness…in a responsible way with HolySpirit. Of course ego mind could pervert that statement in so many ways. LOL It’s our attachments, those things that “hook” us that keep us “here” from awakening. As this lesson says, “Truth will correct all errors in my mind.” And that truth is what unhooks us. Thank you Holy Spirit for helping to see that forgiveness with Holy Spirit lightens my heart. Thank you Myron for your share showing me how the dream is not real.

  2. I am finding that through practicing everything we are learning in the 900 series, I am finding forgiveness to be a cinch too. Seeing everyone as God’s Holy Son is incredible. It changes everything when I have no expectations with it. When I see things change around me just by doing these things I am certain I am on the right path and it is the truth. I feel more confident than I have ever felt before.
