ACIM Workbook Lesson 245

ACIM Lesson 245 Your peace is with me, Father. I am safe. Your peace surrounds me and I give Your peace to those who suffer pain, or grieve for loss, or think they are bereft of hope and happiness.

There is a place in you where there is perfect peace.

Your peace is with me, Father. I am safe.

1. Your peace surrounds me, Father. ²Where I go, Your peace goes there with me. ³It sheds its light on everyone I meet. ⁴I bring it to the desolate and lonely and afraid. ⁵I give Your peace to those who suffer pain, or grieve for loss, or think they are bereft of hope and happiness. ⁶Send them to me, my Father. ⁷Let me bring Your peace with me. ⁸For I would save Your Son, as is Your Will, that I may come to recognize my Self.

2. And so we go in peace. ²To all the world we give the message that we have received. ³And thus we come to hear the Voice for God, Who speaks to us as we relate His Word; Whose Love we recognize because we share the Word that He has given unto us.

To Know Your Peace, I Must Know Who I Am

It is my highest aspiration to be the peace of God and to give peace wherever I go, to know that I am safe and to help others know this, too. To do this, I must know that I am the peace of God. I stay vigilant for thoughts that obscure this fact. To live in the certainty that we are peace and that we are safe in that peace, we must know that we are as God created us. This means that we are only That and nothing else. We are not Spirit and a body, we are not in God and in the world. We are only what God created.

The Ego Would Entice Us Back into the World

The ego never gives up trying to entice us into the world again. I love this lesson and it made my heart soar to read it. But even as I sat here rejoicing in these words, my mind began to wander. I thought about my son leaving early this morning to drive back to New Orleans to clean out his refrigerator and check on his things. I thought about how dangerous it is after a hurricane to try to navigate the streets filled with debris and downed lines.

I rolled my eyes. This is the way the ego seeks to bring us back down to the level of the world. It points out the many dangers and if the mind is not disciplined, it is easy to fall for this. But not this time, ego. There is no world, and we are not in these bodies. We are watchers and decision-makers only. The story we are watching is just an ancient memory we have placed before our eyes. It is this detachment from the story that makes it possible to step back from the temptation to believe what the body’s senses tell us and to remember the truth.
