Lesson 38

There is nothing my holiness cannot do.
W-pI.38.1. Your holiness reverses all the laws of the world. 2 It is beyond every restriction of time, space, distance and limits of any kind. 3 Your holiness is totally unlimited in its power because it establishes you as a Son of God, at one with the Mind of his Creator.
W-pI.38.2. Through your holiness the power of God is made manifest. 2 Through your holiness the power of God is made available. 3 And there is nothing the power of God cannot do. 4 Your holiness, then, can remove all pain, can end all sorrow, and can solve all problems. 5 It can do so in connection with yourself and with anyone else. 6 It is equal in its power to help anyone because it is equal in its power to save anyone.
W-pI.38.3. If you are holy, so is everything God created. 2 You are holy because all things He created are holy. 3 And all things He created are holy because you are. 4 In today’s exercises, we will apply the power of your holiness to all problems, difficulties or suffering in any form that you happen to think of, in yourself or in someone else. 5 We will make no distinctions because there are no distinctions.
W-pI.38.4. In the four longer practice periods, each preferably to last a full five minutes, repeat the idea for today, close your eyes, and then search your mind for any sense of loss or unhappiness of any kind as you see it. 2 Try to make as little distinction as possible between a situation that is difficult for you, and one that is difficult for someone else. 3 Identify the situation specifically, and also the name of the person concerned. 4 Use this form in applying the idea for today:
5 In the situation involving _____ in which I see myself, there is nothing that my holiness cannot do.
6 In the situation involving _____ in which _____ sees himself, there is nothing my holiness cannot do.
W-pI.38.5. From time to time you may want to vary this procedure, and add some relevant thoughts of your own. 2 You might like, for example, to include thoughts such as:
3 There is nothing my holiness cannot do because the power of God lies in it.
4 Introduce whatever variations appeal to you, but keep the exercises focused on the theme, “There is nothing my holiness cannot do.” 5 The purpose of today’s exercises is to begin to instill in you a sense that you have dominion over all things because of what you are.
W-pI.38.6. In the frequent shorter applications, apply the idea in its original form unless a specific problem concerning you or someone else arises, or comes to mind. 2 In that event, use the more specific form in applying the idea to it.

Our holiness reverses all the laws of the world. It has no limits because the power of God lies in it. Our holiness establishes us as a Son of God at one with the Mind of our Creator. Can you grasp the magnitude of this lesson? This is what we are! This defines our power, its unlimited nature, and its source. There is nothing our holiness cannot do. We do not believe this now, but these lessons will help us remove the blocks to our memory of what we are.
You might be doubtful that this power is yours to use because of all the times when you tried to reach a goal and failed. Jesus is not talking about our willpower which is the ego’s version of power. This is not something you do with the split mind by trying to think your way through it. This is your innate power, the power we have been hiding from ourselves, but that we are ready to wake up to.
Our part in this is to accept that the power of our holiness is available to us, a permanent part of us. We must desire it and call on it. Not only is it there for our use in solving our problems, but it is there for us to use in connection with others. Remember, Jesus says this. 5 It can do so in connection with yourself and with anyone else. 6 It is equal in its power to help anyone because it is equal in its power to save anyone.
Once again, I am reminded that Jesus tells us that our only function is to accept the Atonement for ourselves. This means that we are here to awaken to our true Self as we release the blocks to Love’s awareness. Do I want to be helpful to my children when they are suffering, to my friends, to any of my brothers? The way to do that is to accept the Atonement for all thoughts that keep me in my split mind rather than remembering my holiness and calling on its power.
We are beginning to remember that we are holy. We are holy because God created us like Himself and God is holy. We cannot lose this holiness, not even when we are in the deepest dream state, lost in our imaginings. The Self that we are continues to be its Self, unaffected by the illusions in our minds. And if you are holy, so is everything God created. This never varies, not even a little. We are not being arrogant when we accept the simple truth about our creation. Actually, seeing ourselves as having undone creation is the real arrogance. In accepting that our holiness can do anything, we are being humble. We are surrendering to our Creator and accepting His Will for us.
Here are some of the problems I am using to practice this lesson.
5 In the situation involving my lifelong battle with weight in which I see myself, there is nothing that my holiness cannot do. In the situation involving my desire to share what I have been given through the miracles I have experienced in which I see myself, there is nothing that my holiness cannot do.
In the situation involving my desire to accept all that Jesus promises, the promise I can heal the sick and raise the dead and everything in between in which I see myself, there is nothing that my holiness cannot do.
6 In the situation involving physical pain in which Susan sees herself, there is nothing my holiness cannot do.
In the situation involving emotional upset and confusion in which my Macey sees herself, there is nothing my holiness cannot do.
In the situation involving parental frustration and fear in which Sheryl sees herself, there is nothing my holiness cannot do.
There is nothing my holiness cannot do because the power of God lies in it.
I have dominion over all things because of what I am.
