I let forgiveness rest upon all things, for thus forgiveness will be given me. ACIM Lesson 342

I let forgiveness rest upon all things, for thus forgiveness will be given me.

1. I thank You, Father, for Your plan to save me from the hell I made. ²It is not real. ³And You have given me the means to prove its unreality to me. ⁴The key is in my hand, and I have reached the door beyond which lies the end of dreams. ⁵I stand before the gate of Heaven, wondering if I should enter in and be at home. ⁶Let me not wait again today. ⁷Let me forgive all things, and let creation be as You would have it be and as it is. ⁸Let me remember that I am Your Son, and opening the door at last, forget illusions in the blazing light of truth, as memory of You returns to me.

2. Brother, forgive me now. ²I come to you to take you home with me. ³And as we go, the world goes with us on our way to God.

Forgiveness Returns the Memory of God

I stand before the gates to Heaven wondering how to get in. And yet, the key is in my hand. The key is forgiveness and I know how to forgive. I forgive the belief the world has done anything to me. As I forgive the belief that my brother has caused my suffering, I let all things be as God created them. I forgive my belief in the world. As I let go of all I believed, the truth arises in my mind and the memory of God returns.

Forgiving Regret

I don’t want to stand here before the gates waiting to enter. That is why I am vigilant for any false beliefs that I still cling to. Last night I was watching a show about family, about loss and love. It made me cry and I realized that I was feeling regret about all the missed opportunities in my life. I can believe in regret or I can believe in redemption. I choose redemption.

Forgiving Beliefs

This morning I woke up with true beliefs echoing in my mind. I am grateful that my mind is my servant and will believe what I teach it to believe. It is my choice choose to teach it true ideas from now on. I am grateful for the belief in abundance and in health. And I choose the belief in opportunity and the right use of time. I believe in joy at the thought of doing my work. Thus, I look forward to a day of happiness and peace of mind. I keep my mind clear of error as I forgive any thoughts in opposition to the choices I made this morning.

Forgiving Jesus

Once again, Jesus asks us to forgive him. We forgive Jesus as we forgive all our brothers. This is so because we are one. He says that he comes to take us home with him. I feel so much gratitude for my brother, Jesus. He understood forgiveness and even as he stood at the gate, key in his hand, he came back for us. Here is his promise to us.

I will love you and honor you and maintain complete respect for what you have made, but I will not uphold it unless it is true. ⁸I will never forsake you any more than God will, but I must wait as long as you choose to forsake yourself. ⁹Because I wait in love and not in impatience, you will surely ask me truly. ¹⁰I will come in response to a single unequivocal call. (ACIM, T-4.III.7:7-10)

³If you want to be like me I will help you, knowing that we are alike. ⁴If you want to be different, I will wait until you change your mind. (ACIM, T-8.IV.6:3-4)

Thank you, Brother.
