Fear is not justified in any form.

1. Fear is deception. ²It attests that you have seen yourself as you could never be, and therefore look upon a world which is impossible. ³Not one thing in this world is true. ⁴It does not matter what the form in which it may appear. ⁵It witnesses but to your own illusions of yourself. ⁶Let us not be deceived today. ⁷We are the Sons of God. ⁸There is no fear in us, for we are each a part of Love Itself.

2. How foolish are our fears! ²Would You allow Your Son to suffer? ³Give us faith today to recognize Your Son, and set him free. ⁴Let us forgive him in Your Name, that we may understand his holiness, and feel the love for him which is Your Own as well.

It Sure Seems Like Fear Is Justified

When I think of myself as a person separate from others and from God, living in a body in a world of time and space, today’s lesson makes no sense. I seem to be justified in my fears. There is another hurricane coming our way in a couple of days and by all indications, it is probably going to be very powerful. If it hits where I live, I will have to evacuate again like I did last year and there will be damage to my home again. If it hits on the other side of the state where my son lives, he will seem to be endangered.

How is it that fear is not justified in this form? It is because we are not people living in bodies in a world of time and space. We are spirit. We are the Sons of God. We are replaying an ancient memory and to make it feel very real, we place it before our eyes. You know, the eyes in the body that doesn’t exist? Within the story, there are things to do in preparation and because this is a memory it will unfold and it will feel like I am doing these things. But I know that even as this happens, I am really the observer watching my thoughts and feelings for the lesson that it holds for me.

Feeling Overwhelmed

When I first heard that Hurricane Ida might be heading for us, I felt immediately overwhelmed. My house is not even completely repaired from the two hurricanes that hit us last year. I started to cry and almost stopped myself because I know the truth, but I also saw the Holy Spirit’s instruction to not deny the feelings. So I cried. Then I expressed my feelings to someone else and all that energy was released and I very quickly returned to peace.

What is there to fear, after all. There is no house and there is no body so what could possibly be lost? Fear is a deception. Not one thing in this world is true. The ego loves this kind of distraction because it is easy to get so lost in the story that we are observing that one forgets it’s not true. Now all our attention is on the world and that is where the ego wants it.

Instead, I turned my attention to my mind where I could see what yet needs to be healed. No matter what happens in the world over the next couple of days, no matter what losses might occur in this story of Myron and hurricanes, I have done what I came to do. I looked with the Holy Spirit at my thoughts and He is healing my mind. How foolish are our fears! Who we are cannot be harmed. We are divine, Eternal beings. We are greatly loved and forever safe.
